What a Surprise! It’s the traditional extension of the paper submission deadline for our annual meeting in Carlsbad (San Diego Metro), California, February 14-17, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We will accept submissions until the end of November.\u00a0This year’s FINAL deadline will be November 30<\/strong>. Be sure to get your paper submitted before then! You can reserve your room using this link<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, or by calling (833) 489-4455<\/a> and requesting the Western Regional Science Association group rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please note: after January 16, 2027, or as soon as our block fills, the hotel will no longer honor our special room rate! Be sure to book early!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I’m also looking for several students to assist with meeting registration in Carlsbad, CA. In exchange for 10-12 hours of volunteering at the registration desk, students will receive a complete rebate of their registration fees (worth $180, to be processed as a refund following the meeting). Remember that the\u00a0hard deadline for the Graduate Students’ Paper Competition for the Tiebout Prize<\/strong>\u00a0will be extended to\u00a0October 31<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0(not November 30<\/strong>). If you are applying for the Tiebout Paper Competition, submit your full paper\u00a0by\u00a0 October 31<\/u><\/strong>.
Ready to submit? There’s no reason to wait until the last minute. Simply visit the WRSA website and use the\u00a0Login\/Register link in the Member Area<\/u><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(under Membership Menu) to upload your paper and register for the meeting.
I also encourage you to make your travel arrangements early. We will be meeting at\u00a0Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa<\/a><\/u><\/em><\/strong>, a coastal retreat just north of San Diego, CA. Nestled along the scenic Carlsbad coastline just north of San Diego, Westin Carlsbad offers a serene coastal retreat with upscale accommodations and world-class amenities, providing the perfect setting to relax, reconnect, and enjoy our annual meeting.\u00a0
Our negotiated group rate is $239 per night, plus applicable taxes. As a special benefit for WRSA members, the resort fee (normally $35 per night) has been waived.
