Getis-Ord Lecture in Spatial Analysis
In 2013, Professor Arthur Geits (1934-2022), our 40th President (1999 – 2000) and a Fellow of WRSA created the Getis-Ord Lecture in Spatial Analysis and continuously provided financial support for annual lecture series.
The inaugural Getis-Ord Lecture in Spatial Analysis was delivered in 2013 at the WRSA 52nd Annual Meeting in Santa Barbara by Keith Ord, Professor and Sebes Fellow at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University.
Annually, Getis-Ord Lecture committee invites leading scholars in the field of spatial analysis, regional science, and other related fields to deliver special lecture for the WRSA annual meeting.
