Awards
Research that makes an impact deserves to be recognized. The Western Regional Science Association (WRSA) offers two distinguished awards celebrating emerging scholarship and contributions to regional science.
Tiebout Prize
Named in honor of regional science scholar Charles M. Tiebout, the Tiebout Prize recognizes the best graduate student paper in regional science. The award celebrates outstanding scholarship and the spirit of curiosity, mentorship, and intellectual engagement that Tiebout brought to the field.
Stough-Johansson Springer Award
The Stough-Johansson Springer Award recognizes the best paper presented by an early-career scholar at the WRSA Annual Meeting, with winning work invited for submission to The Annals of Regional Science. The award honors the contributions of regional science scholars Roger Reece Stough and Börje Johansson.
